Project Description

Dr. Gupta is an assistant professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Louisiana State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina, M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, and B.S. from the University of Calcutta. Dr. Gupta conducts research on multi-scale, multi-physics problems related to reservoir characterization, reservoir modeling and simulation, wellbore integrity, enhanced oil recovery, and reservoir management. Her current research is on integrated reservoir-wellbore multiphase flow and transport modeling, and numerical modeling of rock/fluid interaction across different spatial and temporal scales. Dr. Guptais industry experience spans strategic research, technology development, and technical services, as well as large capital project maturation in the Gulf of Mexico. Besides research, Dr. Gupta enjoys teaching and uses her industry experience to mentor students on the real-life applications of petroleum engineering.
