Project Description

The goal of the Florida Coastal Access Project is to acquire coastal properties, construct public parks on the properties, and donate the public parks to the appropriate local government. In the first phase, there are four locations across the Florida Panhandle that will be acquired and/or improved to increase recreational uses and coastal access.Three sites will be acquired: 1) Innerarity Point Park site, which is a 3.38 acre parcel in Escambia County, 2) Leonard Destin Park site, which is a 3.42 acre parcel in the City of Destin, and 3) Lynn Haven Preserve and Park site, which is a 90.7 acre parcel in the City of Lynn Haven.The fourth parcel, Island View Park site, is already owned by Franklin County.Public parks will be built on all four of the parcels.Ten years of operation and maintenance activities will be provide to the respective local government for the upkeep of the improved properties as public parks.
