Project Description
This project will support increased microbiological sampling efforts through the construction, via remodeling/retrofitting of existing space, of a microbiology laboratory that will be used for bacterial analysis, source tracking analysis, and other bacterial monitoring efforts. This new capacity will enhance and expand bacteriological monitoring capabilities in a number of ways such as rapid detection of bacteria, same-day notification of recreational water quality, as well as provide MDEQ a mechanism to identify pollution sources within a specific watershed, both point and nonpoint sources.
