Project Description

This proposal is the second in a series by The Trust for Public Land (TPL) in collaboration with state, federal and local partners to conserve and restore vulnerable coastal wetlands south and east of the city of New Orleans. The focus area is the Mid-Barataria Basin in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. TPL's goal is perpetual protection through fee acquisition 1,270 acres of coastal wetlands (Tract 1- Fleming Plantation, Phase 2) for inclusion into Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve's Barataria Preserve unit using grant and match funds.
