Project Description
The Pensacola Living Shoreline Phase I is a multi-phase living shoreline project that totals 24,800 linear feet of rock and oyster reef breakwater and 205 acres of emergent marsh and submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) habitat. This component of the project provides funding for planning, engineering, design, environmental compliance, and permitting for three sites. If fully implemented, the first of the three sites would be constructed adjacent to White Island in northwestern Pensacola Bay, and the other two sites are planned to be constructed on the eastern and southern shores of the Naval Air Station.
