Project Description

Habitat enhancement projects ranging from revitalizing degraded reefs in the upper estuary to creating new reef habitat along the continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico offshore of Alabama is needed. Extensive research will be conducted to monitor the biological succession; temporal/spatial patterns of habitat utilization; and evaluate the structural integrity, durability, and stability of the enhancement projects following the construction of the inshore, nearshore, and offshore projects.
