Project Description
The project partially restored lost recreational opportunities resulting from the Deepwater Horizon spill and related response actions. This project enhanced recreational shoreline access by construction of a portion (8,200 feet) of a two mile, 10 foot wide lighted concrete beachfront pedestrian pathway adjacent to a sand beach in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Project funds were used to complete the concrete pathway and construct amenities including pedestrian barriers, lighting, and pedestrian bridges. Performance monitoring is now complete for this project.
