Project Description
The working group for Theme 2 is charged with the investigation of physical processes as they affect transport, dispersion, dilution, and distribution of oil-derived substances on the Alabama coast including the continental shelf, estuaries, small embayments, wetlands, and intertidal zones. We propose to use a recently developed technique, called hyperspectral imaging (HSI), to provide a qualitative and/or quantitative understanding of the transport, dispersion, dilution, and distribution of oil-derived substances on the surface and subsurface levels.
