Project Description

The project will collect information needed to identify sources of bacterial pollution and prioritize water quality restoration strategies and activities in the Pensacola and Perdido Bay watersheds. Planning activities would include: (1) analysis of existing data, (2) subject matter expert engagement, (3) field reconnaissance, (4) water quality field sampling, and (5) final report development. The project will primarily be implemented by Pensacola and Perdido Bays Estuary Program (PPBEP). Escambia County Water Quality and Land Management Division staff will assist with sampling and analysis. Opportunities to engage other agencies to assist with field support and other project activities will be explored. Other potential partners include Santa Rosa County, City of Pensacola, and the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority.
