Project Description

Ms. Piper is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Riverside and is currently studying urban air pollution. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University and started her journey as an urban ecologist in the Gulf region. Stephanie is passionate about environmental justice and building urban green space that is widely accessible. She has spent much of her time in graduate school focused on science policy work, with projects focused on community engagement near an unhealthy ecosystem and turning underused golf courses into a desert preserve. Stephanie hopes to continue working on the local scale to make cities healthier, more sustainable, and more equitable.
