Project Description

This project will focus on facilitating strategic, science-based offshore wind energy infrastructure (OWI) planning by evaluating its potential impacts on fish and fisheries. The project team will synthesize data related to the potential artificial reef and exclusion zone effects from OWI. Objectives include 1) co-developing ecosystem models to evaluate and forecast Gulf of Mexico OWI impacts on fish and fisheries and 2) developing conceptual models, critical hypotheses, and empirical experiments to guide Gulf of Mexico OWI research priorities and monitoring efforts.
