Project Description
This project will reduce sea turtle bycatch, in each of the five Gulf states, at shore-based recreational fishing sites, such as fishing piers, bridges, and other shoreline structures. This five-year project will first identify factors contributing to bycatch at shore-based sites through use of angler fishing practice surveys and a review of historical data, then select voluntary bycatch reduction efforts to test throughout the five states.
