Project Description
The Commercial Proving Grounds for Space to Seafloor Environmental Monitoring grant is awarded to the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality under the RESTORE Act Direct Component to provide an avenue for workforce development that is required to support the test range and supply domain-specific technicians to support the autonomous systems industry at large. The project objectives are to develop, create, and implement test ranges for unmanned aircraft and maritime vehicles in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Region to support workforce development needs in the industry. The project will benefit the coastal communities of the Gulf Coast Region. The subrecipient, the National Oceans and Applications Research Center, will carry out the scope of work for the grant.
