Project Description
Robert Miller is an assistant professor in the civil engineering department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Dr. Miller’s research addresses problems arising from the human-water interaction towards a vision of less suffering, less waste, and healthier environments. Dr. Miller’s methods involve numerical modeling in the areas of hydraulics and hydrology, water quality, and mathematical biology – complemented by environmental sampling and field observations. Prior to becoming a university faculty, Dr. Miller worked in industry for 11 years as a water resources engineer and project manager on numerous projects including site drainage design, flood zone and floodplain management, environmental impact assessments, watershed master plans, and coastal restoration. Dr. Miller obtained his Ph.D. in applied mathematics with an emphasis in structured population dynamics in 2015 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is a registered professional engineer in Louisiana.
