Project Description
Ms. Logarbo earned her B.S. in Marine Biology from Nicholls State University in 2017 and her M.S. in Renewable Natural Resources: Fisheries and Aquaculture from Louisiana State University in 2021. Her master's thesis explored the mutualistic relationship between the Gulf ribbed mussel and smooth cordgrass in southeast Louisiana and implications of this relationship for future coastal restoration efforts. Before graduate school, Ms. Logarbo worked as a Research Assistant at the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium in the Ecosystem Ecology and Biogeochemistry laboratory with Dr. Brian Roberts. Throughout her studies in graduate school at LSU, Ms. Logarbo served as Social Chair of the Graduate Student Association and Treasurer for the Society of Wetland Scientists, LSU Chapter. She was also awarded by Louisiana Sea Grant as a Sea Grant Scholar. Her research interests include marine invertebrate zoology, marine biogeochemistry, coastal restoration, and ecology, and she loves sharing science with others. Ms. Logarbo is passionate about effective science communication through policy, education, and outreach. She is excited to follow these passions and incorporate important science into decision making in order to see tangible results for the betterment of coastal ecosystems and coastal communities through the Science Policy Fellowship.
