Habitat Restoration and Enhancement
When completed, this project will result in installation of approximately 678,000 native dune plants, installation of approximately 31,000 linear feet of sand fencing, and installation of approximately 220 restoration signs in coastal Alabama. The city of Gulf Shores, city of Orange Beach, Gulf State Park, Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge (NWR), and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) form the largest group of coastal landowners along the Alabama Gulf Coast. These owners collectively own and/or manage approximately 18-20 linear miles of dune habitat.
