Project Description
The Bayou Terre aux Boeufs Ridge Armoring project is awarded to St. Bernard Parish under the RESTORE Act Direct Component program for the installation of approximately 6,200 linear feet of limestone along one of the most vulnerable stretches of the Bayou Terre aux Boeufs ridge shoreline and 68 acres of Cypress-Tupelo plantings immediately adjacent to an existing reach of the Bayou Terre aux Boeufs ridge. The objective of the project is shoreline protection consisting of a continuation of the Bayou Terre aux Boeufs Ridge Armoring (Phase 1) project which was completed in 2020, by the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA). This project will complete Phase 2 of the overall project, from Bayou Gentilly to Bayou Lery near Delacroix, St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. The Parish anticipates that this project will protect approximately twenty (20) acres of the existing Live Oak-Hackberry habitat on the ridge and help sustain the landform while other largescale ridge restoration efforts are funded. The project will benefit the communities of St. Bernard Parish. There is no subrecipient for this project.
