Project Description

Research of the movement patterns, habitat use, and health for the two dolphin species that regularly inhabit the coastal and/or shelf waters off Florida’s west coast, bottlenose (Tursiops truncatus) and Atlantic spotted (Stenella frontalis), including capture-release health assessments to establish baselines and serve as the basis for comparison to inshore dolphins to assess health status, tagging and satellite tracking, and photo-identification and matching system continuation (GoMDIS).
