Project Description

The project uses novel technology and approaches to understand early sea turtle habitat use, ecology, and underlying drivers by which young turtles recruit from offshore into West Florida coastal waters in the Gulf of Mexico. The reserach determines the underlying drivers of these shifts through finer-scale genetic characterizations and by establishing a framework for understanding gene-by-environment interactions to better quantify management needs for these protected species.
