Project Description
Ms. Bauer received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Portland in 2015 and her M.S. in Oceanography and Coastal Science from Louisiana State University in 2020. Her master's thesis looked at the trophic interactions of invasive lionfish in the Gulf of Mexico and developed a growth model to identify high-priority management areas, particularly in deeper areas. During her time at LSU, Ms. Bauer received several awards, including an Honorable Mention for the Graduate Research Fellowship Program, a 3-minute thesis speaking competition hosted by Louisiana Sea Grant, and traveled to Sydney, Australia with an international research grant. Her academic interests include invasive species, marine ecology, predator-prey interactions, and data-driven management tools. Prior to graduate school, Ms. Bauer worked in various conservation and outreach positions across the U.S. and Central America.
