Project Description

Phase II of the project includes finalizing the engineering and design for two discrete sub-projects (North Segment and South Segment) that are focused on stabilizing the shoreline and restoring emergent tidal habitat along the entire 3.3 mile length of the Dauphin Island Causeway from Bayfront Park to Cedar Point. This plan calls for placement of approximately 6,100 feet of breakwaters and restoration of approximately 35 acres of emergent tidal habitat behind the breakwaters
