Project Description
Bayside Marina is a 2.6-acre private marina located on Ochlockonee Bay, in the Panacea Community, Wakulla County, Florida. The marina is also located at the headwaters of a tidal spring run with exceptional habitat value. Wakulla County wishes to acquire this property and convert it into a County owned and operated public boating facility. This portion of the project will include a study to assess the feasibility, reasonableness and economics of the acquisition of Bayside Marina and turning it into a County owned and operated public boating facility. The goal of acquiring the private Bayside Marina is to increase public access for outdoor recreational opportunities, provide resting/viewing areas of natural North Florida habitats and limiting development from having a negative effect on water quality and habitat.
