Project Description

This project will help protect, restore and enhance an ecologically functioning prairie wetland complex in the North Dakota Prairie Drift through perpetual conservation grassland and wetland easements, wetland restoration, grass restoration, and managed grazing systems. The wetlands and associated upland habitats on the leased habitat in this proposal will be open to public activities such as hunting, trapping, bird watching, photography, education and hiking. Private land projects will be open to the public at the discretion of each individual landowner. Ancillary benefits include flood control, water quality maintenance, erosion control, tourism, economic diversity and infrastructure protection.
