Project Description

Tiering from the Barataria Basin Strategic Restoration Plan (SRP #3), this RP #3.3 focuses on restoration of wetlands, coastal and nearshore habitats through marsh creation within the Barataria Basin. Initially evaluated in SRP #3, this project would be the largest marsh creation project in Barataria Basin to date and would utilize the Long Distance Sediment Pipeline to bring dredged sediment from the Mississippi River into the basin wetlands to create approximately 1200 acres of wetlands.
