Tasks to be completed as a part of the planning activities include development of watershed selection criteria for the identification of target watersheds and downstream waterbodies for nutrient reduction restoration; identification of target watersheds and downstream waterbodies using the established criteria; evaluation of nutrient reduction strategies, including but not limited to established Best Management Practices, for effectiveness and cost effectiveness in the target watersheds; and the identification of non-governmental organizations, local jurisdictions, watershed stakeholder groups, and other organizations working in identified target watersheds to address nonpoint source nutrient reduction and downstream water quality improvement/restoration.
