The project developed watershed selection criteria and nonpoint source nutrient reduction strategies for the Nutrient Reduction Restoration Type (nonpoint source) in accordance with the PDARP for restoration planning in the Texas TIG. Tasks completed as a part of the planning activities included development of watershed selection criteria for the identification of target watersheds and downstream waterbodies for nutrient reduction restoration; identification of target watersheds and downstream waterbodies using the established criteria; evaluation of nutrient reduction strategies, including but not limited to established Best Management Practices, for effectiveness and cost effectiveness in the target watersheds; and the identification of non-governmental organizations, local jurisdictions, watershed stakeholder groups, and other organizations working in identified target watersheds to address nonpoint source nutrient reduction and downstream water quality improvement/restoration.
