Project Description
This Water Management Workforce Development Program will train 150 individuals for middle skilled positions on water management projects throughout Terrebonne Parish and the region. The training is designed to encompass a total of 10 subjects into a single course which will be offered twice per year for three years, including: regulations and permitting; safety; pipelines; endangered species; vegetation and soil types; dredging; trenching; soft skills/job readiness; introduction to coastal restoration and protection; and equipment for coastal projects. The program will be implemented by Fletcher Technical Community College (FTCC), Coastal Restoration and Protection Institute through a subaward agreement with Terrebonne Parish.
