Project Description

Dr. Shelby Servais holds a Ph.D. in biology from Florida International University and earned her B.S. in environmental science from Mount Saint Maryis University. Dr. Servaisi dissertation, conducted in the Florida Coastal Everglades Long-Term Ecological Research Network, investigated how changing environmental conditions affect soil microbes. She worked in the Florida Everglades and tested how saltwater intrusion alters how soil microbes process carbon and nutrients. Dr. Servais is also enthusiastic about science outreach and was a Science Communication Fellow at the Frost Museum of Science while completing her graduate program.
