Project Description

Dr. Losego is an assistant professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). He received his B.S. from Penn State University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, all in materials science and engineering. Prior to joining the Georgia Tech faculty, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois and research faculty at NC State. At Georgia Tech, Dr. Losego runs a highly interdisciplinary research team that focuses on the science of vapor phase processing applied to unconventional materials sets for environmental protection, renewable energy, and national security technologies. Research spans from fundamental studies of surface chemistry and processing kinetics to the development of novel deposition equipment and manufacturing methods. He is also the faculty founder of The Materials Innovation and Learning Laboratory, an open-access make-and-measure space devoted to peer-to-peer, experiential education within the materials science discipline.
